Trusting God would sound as ridiculous as trusting Ronald McDonald. The only association this boy had with the word Faith was a song written by George Michael and then re did by this rock band called Limp Bizkit. When he finally found God's love...he still struggled to understand the whole meaning of Faith...what it meant to have Faith in God...to stay Faithful to His calling for your life....Struggle after struggle....thoughts of giving up seemed to play ever so often in his mind. One day, when all hope seemed to be lost...when all questions of faith seem to reach a dead end. This young man looked up in the sky....almost as if he was looking straight into God's face...and asks God..."How long do i have to put up with these situations!?!?How long do i have to stay faithful?!?!? Don't you think i've given enough for You??!?!" Then silence falls into the empty room. Only the sound of the annoyingly creaky ceiling fan and sounds of tears dripping on the floor....then a small still voice.....very easy to miss amidst the loud questions in the young man's head.....says to him "How long are you willing to be faithful to My calling?" More silence after that, followed by more sobbing as the young man finally realised how much it takes for someone to have Faith in Him....

Read Psalm 118.....

KLPAC'ness

Went for a play last nigh at KLPAC. No problem wan!!
Me: Umm, how to get to Jalan Sentul?
Friend 1: ........................

then i called my second friend;
Friend 2: Oh first you make your way to Jalan Kuching then Turn off to Jalan Sentul. Then you can find already. Very easy wan...dont worry...
Me: How to get to Jalan Kuching? Follow the cats is it? hur hur hur....
Friend 2: ............................................

Then finally i called my 3rd sister;
Julia: Aiyoh, what la you....okok...first you find your way to federal highway, then you tuen off at Jalan Kuching then you...bla bla bla bla bla bla.........(basically i lost her at Jalan Kuching)
Me: .................................

So yea ladies and gentlemen...im admitting it....I am absolutely clueless on my directions in town!!!i mean, its a crazy maze down there!!!all the turns and corners and weird sounding road names....sigh....

anyways, back to my KLPAC story.....Picked Jean up at about 7.15pm hoping that she'll know the way.
She did some homework and right up to that point i was feeling confident of my navigator...she came into my car with a piece of paper with direction written on it...things were looking good so far... :) then she gave me my first direction...
"Terry, Go north from Jalan Selesa to Jalan Rukun 6"
Me: Umm...Jean, which way is north?
Both of us: .....................................

HAHAHA...gosh...well, we finally foudn our way to KLPAC thanks to my very trusty navigator Prakash....the place looks really really really nice..i really regretted not bringing my camera...i mean..it was really nice...pretty artsy fartsy...but hey...its an entire centre for the artsy fartsy kind...and i liked it... :)

Ok, so the play was about to start. I had no idea what to expect, i was expecting like a pretty normal clear storyline kind of play....OH!!!was i shocked... :) The play was called umm...."Oh Dad, Poor Dad. Momma's hung you something something something...." i cant remember the name la....but all i can say is the play was fantastically oozing with ....weirdness...... :) in a good way of course....

I left the stage scratching my head wondering what the whole play meant or why did it end like that....apparently i wasnt the only one...Jean was pretty baffled as well. :) Oh well, at least i achieved what i went there for...
To see my dear Ex Student Aple perform...i was wonderign before the show of what role will she be playing....i was pretty shocked when i found out....

Yes, thats Aple....Bachelors in Psych student/SubEditor of the Student Newletter/President of Psych Student Association by day and Human Venus Fly Trap by night!!!! (Yes boys and girls, those girls are evil monstrous venus fly traps....) Great job Aple, i have a new found respect for you....seriously guys...if you watch this play...you'll know why i say that these two girls have the hardest roles to play.... :)

I wonder if i'll be abel to pull off a venus fly trap character? ...Hmmm...nah..i'll just stick to my Royal Announcer Role for now....

Or maybe even a Cheerleader... :)

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

The day is Monday (7th of September 2009)....its a holiday for all of Selangor and i have been looking forward to a nice relaxing day off... :) That was before i got a call from my 3rd sister,

Julia: Hey, Terry...wat are you doing?
Terry: *Mumble...grumble.....
Julia: Still sleeping ar?!?!?!?!aiyoh...
Terry: mMmmm...wat do you want?
Julia: I need help....need you to help me deliver newspapers

*Terry thinks to himself....WAT IN THE WORLD?!?!?!?!MY OFF DAY AND YOU WANT ME TO DELIVER NEWSPAPERS?!?!?!?!?!CRAZY AR?!?!?!?DO I LOOK LIKE A KOOLIE TO YOU?!?!?HUH?!?!?!HUHHH?!?!

Terry: Oklah...wat time do you want me there?

Haha...you see, i was really really hesitant about helping my sister out that day...i mean..who would blame me...an off day...to finally catch up on sleep and rest...and she wants me to run around taman desa delivering newspapers...i was really really throwing that idea out of my mind when she asked me...but then i thought about it...
My 3rd sister, Julia, is the closest to me among my siblings...not that my other siblings are horrible or anything...its plainly because of the age gap between us...ever since we were young, she would always be the one looking out for me...scolding me and teaching me stuff.....i can safely say that she knows me more than i know myself soemtimes...and the same goes the other way around....My sister has always been passionate about pursuing her dreams...she's not a quitter...and that's something i really really admire about her...about 2 months back, she started on this journey of making her dreams come true....in running her own Press...if it was me, i would have just said.."Aiyah, no manpower, no money...wait first la.."...but no...she took that step of faith and started her own press...all by herself...with no manpower (except for her husband..hehe) and not much money...but she persevered and finally...the first issue of the Alpha Times was out...

So anyways, back to why im writing this post....I have to admit that i have always struggled when it came to areas of Faith...to take that bold step forward ...by not trusting your own instincts or fears but by believing that God is the one who will bring you through...well, God has assured me once again that He will bring us through this journey through my sister....through her perseverance....through her desperate call for help to deliver the newspapers.... :)

Btw, i helped my brother in law deliver them newspapers to all the shops in Taman Desa...It wasnt the easy and relaxing day i had planned for my off day...but it sure was a really really fulfilling one....

P.S: I have a new found respect for newspaper delivery men.....may God bless your thigh muscles....

Thursday, September 03, 2009

woooohoooo!!!!just found out that my 3rd sister's preggie's with her 2nd child!!!!
i'm gonna be an uncle......again........time to catch up with my sister... The last really really good Alien movie i watched was about a certain sigourney weaver fighting off some bad ass aliens together with a couple of marines stranded in a space ship and in the end destroying the Queen alien with a robotic forklift and in the end discovering that there's an alien baby thingy in her belly. Yup, thats pretty much the story line for most alien movies..(ok, maybe not the last part)

District 9 for me...presented me with a different look at Alien Invasion... :) Truth is...I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!

Would wanna spoil the movie for you in case you havent watched it...but its basically a story about an alien mothership being stranded here on earth and are forced to live on earth in slum like conditions...they eventually overstay their welcome here on earth and we humans basically want them out. Go watch the movie...trust me, you'll like it. :) in the mean time...here are some screenshots from the movie...

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I have always been proud of my students.......i mean..that was the MAIN reason why i stayed back in UCSI for 3 years...was the fact that i didnt believe that my work was done with the students i had in UCSI...with the lives that had so much potential to grow.....that was something i was worried to find here in sunway....i think i wrote in a cople of posts back that i was afraid fo the challenges ahead of me over here...still am....but i saw something that touched my heart and reminded me of what i am passionate for.....

One of our council members really felt the need to let a coupld of underpriviledged kids play with Wii booth today at a carnival organised by the Student Council of SunU....i could see how much she wanted to make those kids happy....and those kids that played were all smiles... :)
that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...wat made me happier was the fact that nobody had to suggest to her to get those kids to play...she did all on her own....

It's been a good good day...a very tiring....but very good day... :)

Friday, August 07, 2009

July came and ciao'ed in a flash!!!!gosh...it just seemed like yesterday that i was blowing off the candles on my birthday cake ....and now...its August already....it gets kinda scary that time flies by sooooo fast....will i get to accomplish all that i have set my heart to finish in 2009?
